Busy Business

Katy has been busy too. At school this term, her year has been doing a Literacy study focussing on Harry Potter. The unit of work investigates the themes, characters and styles included in 'The Philosopher's Stone'. Lots of activities and investigations were involved all that had the potential to earn the much sort after wizard coins! The class also hosted a school assembly with a Harry Potter theme. Sounds like Katy (and the rest of the students) have had so much fun this term.

Meanwhile away form school Katy has loved getting to know her fellow Tiger teammates from soccer. Last week it was the annual Pink Socks Day, although this year it was beanies, raising money for breast cancer.

Winter Winds Concert

Ella participates in the Primary School Concert Band on Monday evenings for a few hours. This band is an extension program to the Instrument Music Program Year 6 Band at school. Having missed the first term, Ella had a bit to catch up on but seems to have managed that.

The night after we returned from Perth, the annual Winter Winds concert was held in Llewellyn Hall at ANU. A night of wonderful music demonstrating all the student's hard work. It was a sell out concert with heaps of performances. There were Junior and Senior Choirs followed by performances by Primary concert bands (Monday and Thursday groups), then on to Junior and Senior Concert Bands and even a Brass Band! So much music that was lovely to listen to.

We were treated to 3 songs played by Ella's band. Here is one of their songs...

Meeting the Cousins

It was a quick but exciting trip to Perth for us girls. We met Jesse and Tobee who are just adorable. Daryl and Michelle looked happy and not too sleep deprived! Ella and Katy both loved cuddling and feeding the boys so much. Just a pity that we live on the other side of Australia.

Jesse was a bit fussy with feeding but loved having snuggles.

Tobee loved his bottle and feel easily asleep afterwards!

Ice Skating Birthday Party

Katy celebrated her 10th winter birthday by taking a few friends ice skating! It was great fun, so much so that a few girls didn't want to leave the rink despite their blue shivering lips! Ella was fantastic at helping the girls find their feet on the ice and thankfully despite a few falls, there were no injuries! Once ice skating was over, we all retreated back to our house to warm up with cake!

Double Digits for Katy

Our little girl has turned 10! Where has that time gone?
