New Activities

Post morning exercise, the household split with the girls (Al, Stace and myself) taking the opportunity to head off for coffee with the intention of meeting up with the boys and children at the local playground. Coffee destination was the old historic Tathra Wharf, a 20min walk from the house along the coastline enjoying the spectacular views of the ocean and Tathra headland.

After an enjoyable morning tea and catch up, we continued on to the main beach arriving at the playground. To our surprise the children weren't on the playground but were being daredevils at the skate bowl next-door. The funny thing was that not one of them had a skateboard!! Ella, Katy, Max and Mira were taking turns were on the girls scooters while Jackson zoomed around on his balance bike! All were having a fantastic time mixing in with the locals.

We returned to the house for lunch. Dave, Stace, Jackson and Charlie packed up before heading off back home for Dave's work commitments. The rest of the afternoon was rather low key due to several tired children so a touch of tv was in store.

Then a last minute fishing trip!! Ella was keen to try out her fishing rod she received for her birthday several months ago. Al kitted up the rest of the kids with some last minute purchases of hand reels and bait from the local shop. Although it is the spot to go fishing, we were too frightened to take the kids to the historic wharf and who would blame us - 5 kids to 2 adults with the wharf standing about 5m above the water!

Instead we drove the short distance to Kianinny Bay. We managed to keep everyone dry, not lose any of the fishing equipment and not hook anyone. Wins all-round except for the point about catching a fish! Despite this everyone had fun trying! Soon enough the relaxation that is fishing became boredom and the kids ventured off to the nearby playground and beach!
