Whiteout

Our first day of skiing and the weather had closed in. With 80km/h wind gusts, the majority of lifts were understandably closed and thus our lessons scheduled at Blue Cow were cancelled. This was good news for Katy who also was still under the weather.

Nevertheless Andy, Cathy and the three kids (Ella, Maki and Luca) braved the fierce conditions. Andy and Ella headed for the Burning Log T-bar, while Cathy and co who were going out on their first downhill ski outing ventured to the guthega ski centre. Not only could they get their ski adjusted but they could also catch the chairlift up. They all didn't last too long on the slopes and were back in the lodge after an hour or so.

Post lunch, we (Cathy, Andy and I) left the kids with the grandies to test out our skills. We taught Cathy how to ride a T-bar which was all very successful until near the top where I got confused as to when to hop off. Consequently I made Cathy get off too early and we both stacked! Good funny times!!

I remembered how to ski (and how to fall over!) but the conditions were deteriorating quickly. The low visibility makes it hard to see the snow thus we didn't last very long. Here it the view from the top of the T bar.
