Awesome Skiing

What a difference 24 hours makes! We woke to a glorious day with spectacular views of the main range.  It was a quick breakfast as everyone  was itching to get out into these perfect conditions!

The snow was deep off Blue Calf as we made our way down to the Freedom Quad. We were heading to Blue Cow to drop off Josh at his first snow board lesson.

The rest of us (Andy, Patrick, Susie, Mia, Ella, Katy and myself), spent the morning on Mt Blue Cow. It was fantastic skiing this mountain from top to bottom several times. Patrick and I stayed on the easier slopes, while the others did a few harder runs before we retired for lunch.

There was an extremely large queue at the Terminal Quad and while patiently waiting, a serious fight occurred right next to our group. Unfortunately with everyone jammed together and locked into their skis it was a little hard to move out of the way. Then one of the guys involved decided to sort out the argument with his fist, and decked the other who fell right on top of Katy. Poor Katy was understandably distraught. Luckily they stopped when Andy yelled at them. Security soon arrived and escorted them back to the Perisher Office where their passes were suspended immediately.

Lunch provided a distraction to this scary experience and we were soon planning our afternoon adventure. Josh joined us and so we were now a group of 8 - 6 skiers and 2 snowboarders. Off we headed down Pleasant Valley and Copperhead Road before cutting around to the Interceptor chair. With time ticking away and tiredness setting in, we thought about turning for home. Up Pleasant Valley Chair, then down Pleasant View to perfectly time a family ride on the Freedom Quad up to the top of Guthega Peak before gliding down Bloody Mary and around Norwegian Trial to the back of the lodge to finish a wonderful day out!
