Sneaky Snowtime Day 2

Our second day of skiing was overcast but that didn't dampen our spirits to explore new territory - Mt Perisher. The resort was spookily quiet, one might say even deserted as we made our way over from Guthega via Blue Cow stopping for a hot chocolate. As we enjoyed Happy Valley, we were keeping a lookout for the Jones / Walter clan who had also skipped school to play in the snow. Mt Perisher was far busier but we eventually discovered the gang hanging out at the little cafe at the bottom of the Eyre T bar.

For the next hour or so the group splintered with various pairs doing a couple of runs before returning to the cafe. The kids spent more time playing and getting wet in the snow than skiing but they were all having fun so we left them to it. I skied new runs including Shifty's, Wylies and Exhibition. Soon though it was time to move on.

We made our way over to Vista, enjoying the fantastic views before skiing down to the Happy Valley T bar. Then it was past mid station and onto Goat Gully. The Walter kids showed us the photo jump (which unfortunately wasn't working) and a cool twisty course before we arrived at the Perisher Quad chair. Riding this up to the top of Back Perisher Mt we then skied down the lovely Happy Valley returning up the T bar and heading for lunch at the Mid Station Cafe

Keeping in mind we still needed to return to the lodge for some last minute packing and cleaning, we thought it was wise to begin our journey back to Guthega. The whole gang skied via Interceptor and on to Ridge Chair where we said our farewells to the Walter / Jones clan at the top.

Our departure from the lodge was efficiently done and we were soon on the road heading home just before 4pm. We were lucky to spot a couple of echidnas on the side of the road as we left Guthega. Another set of wonderful skiing memories to treasure!
