Last Day of the Season

And how gorgeous it was. After packing and cleaning, we were out on the slopes in time to catch the first Freedom. Our destination was rollercoaster then on to ridge for a few early runs. Rollercoaster was nice but once on the ridge chair we soon discovered that accelerator was closed due to racing - Junior Elite Super G races. All our excitement evaporated and grumpiness emerged.

A coffee break fixes all things right? At Blue Cow the kids tested out the snow slides thankfully bringing the smiles back. We also heard that the races were due to conclude by mid morning so it seemed we didn't have long to wait.

Back on the slopes, Andy took the troop through the snow gums from the bottom of summit. A welcomed distraction from the still closed runs. Apart form losing Ella at one stage, the kids really enjoyed this adventure and were off for a second lap. Meanwhile Cath and I hung around at the top saving our legs for the harder runs to open. And finally with much anticipation the barriers were removed. Cath and I were one of the first down accelerator which was lovely apart from the icy patches created by the Super G competition. Everyone else caught up and we split for our final lap with most heading down Outer limits before easing our way back to Guthega for the trip home.
