Escaping

The first chance at escaping covid life and Andy was out! This weekend actually occurred back in mid October (16/17) when restrictions lifted and gave everyone a taste of freedom! Andy and Katy decided on an overnight walk at Rendezvous. Katy asked Mira and Alia to join in and so dads Rob and Andy also came.

Conditions on the Saturday were overcast and a little wet. Rain jackets were donned early as the girls wandered through the trees in the light rain and cool conditions. A few km's of walking soon warmed everyone up. Keeping on the northside of the Rendezvous creek, the group wandered about 4 km before finding an appropriate camp site. More exploring and rock climbing occurred before setting up the tents and cooking dinner.

Sunday morning after packing up, they set about walking along the southside of the Rendezvous creek in the open grassy area. The walking was much easier and the conditions drier and by mid morning they had arrived back at the cars. The essential coffee stop on the way home finished the trip nicely.
