Recovery Day

Katy had decided that today was going to be a beach day which was perfect recovery from yesterday's Mt Gower adventure. Andy and I opted to do a recovery swim instead of a morning walk / run. After checking out Ned's which was too rough, we walked back across the island to the main lagoon and swam around the headland to the jetty.

Back home it was a lazy morning as we were in no hurry to do much. Eventually Katy, Andy and myself rode over to the Old Settlement beach to snorkel at Sylph's Hole. It was a bit of a swim to the buoy that identified the 'hole' - although to be honest it was more like a bank of coral. Similar to the other days we spotted a turtle which made everyone happy! It was pretty good snorkelling but not quite as good as the main lagoon. Tuckered out we swam back to the beach only to find Ella had arrived and was getting ready to snorkel. Andy accompanied her out to the hole.

Once everyone had had enough, we walked south along the beach until we found a perfect spot to lounge around reading and generally not doing much! A little splash every so often kept us refreshed and an explore of the beach kept us entertained. Ella was first to bail after an hour or so and we followed shortly after.

Post lunch, Andy found some energy to go for a run around intermediate hill and Ella took herself down to the main lagoon for another snorkelling session. Katy and I had an afternoon nap as our eyes grew heavy from reading!

And dinner was by the ocean too - fish n chips watching the sunset!
