And so Ella returned from camp. Once back at home and after she had recalled all the exciting times down at Kianniny, we broke the news that Lollypop Legs was now in chicken heaven. She ran up to the coop and tried to convince all that it wasn't her chicken that was put to sleep but Holly! Poor Katy was in tears once again, now thinking it was her chicken!
As far as I'm concerned, Lollypop Legs is no longer with us and so I managed to turn the girls attention to what we should do for Holly who is now all alone. And so came the suggestion to get chicks...little fluffy ones that could be cuddled!!
We tracked down some chicks at Yarralumla Nursery and made the trip out there after school on Friday. As you can imagine the girls excitement and goodness levels were sky-high!

They have settled well into our household taking up residence and making lots of mess in the laundry in a rabbit hutch kindly lent to us. We will have to wait until their proper feathers grown before they can move into the coop with Holly.
