Melbourne Moments

We joined Andy in Melbourne last Friday.  Ella had obviously missed him lots as she sprinted to him once we got off the plane.  Here is a pictorial of our weekend.

Walking Washing Basket

I got a bit of a fright and a laugh this afternoon when an upside down washing basket came wandering into the kitchen! Lucky for me it was only possessed by Ella!

We're off to Melbourne tomorrow (for the weekend) to meet up with Andy who has been there all week for a conference. Will be visiting Andy's grandparents and hope to catch up with friends.

A Question....

Whats more annoying than being rung up at 8.50am on a saturday morning while you are walking the dog and pushing the pram and Andy is out running to be told you have forgotten to show up at work (which starts at 8.30am)?

Answer: To find out after running home, getting a friend to come and look after Ella until Andy gets back from running (THANKS heaps Stace!), quickly get changed into work clothes, drive frantically without breaking too many speed records and get to work, taking the first patient into the room only to discover you weren't rostered on and the person who was actually working was just exceptionally late!!!!

So after scanning one patient I drove back home and spent the rest of the day relaxing!

Party Week

This week has been full of birthdays.  Started off with Mia's 2nd birthday last Sunday down by the shores of Lake Burley Griffin.  A beautiful morning of playing and swimming. Next was Luca's 1st birthday on Friday and whose party we are missing next weekend as we'll be in Melbourne. Yesterday we went to a combined birthday party for 2 of Andy's work colleagues who had made an amazing array of food including a lamb spit roast.  Unfortunately we had to leave after the entree to put Ella to bed. And finally today we have just come home to recover and escape the 39C heat from Loic's 2nd birthday party!

Sundews

This week Ella graduated to the next room in her childcare centre called Sundews.  She was very excited to be able to play in the BIG playground and has seemed to settle in quite well.  One major difference to BIlly Buttons (her old room) is there is no separate sleeping section and all the children lay down for their naps on mats in the one room after lunch I think.  Combine trying to keep up with the playing of the bigger kids and not sleeping as much as normal = tired grumpy little people!  In fact after picking Ella up on Tuesday she was sooo knackered that even eating dinner was too much trouble! No doubt she'll get used to it in time....
