Cure for Jetlag

Originally we planned to go out for breakfast after picking up Andy from the airport until I realised that I had the time wrong. Instead we picked Andy up mid morning and decided take advantage of the beautiful weather by heading out to the Cotter for a picnic lunch.

Andy and the girls explored the playground while I cooked a few snags on the very slow gas bbq. We had a very simple lunch overlooking the river. Post lunch, the river was just too enticing and soon both girls had hitched up their skirts and were off wading. Despite the freezing water, we spent a considerable amount of time walking through the water over to various islands.

Thankfully no-one fell in and to defrost our feet we walked the Discovery Trail to the dam wall admiring lizards and rock en route, then ending up at the conveniently parked ice cream van! A nice way to help Andy stay awake...well until 6pm that is!!

Holiday Juggle

Thankfully I have wonderful family and friends here in Canberra who helped me out juggling work and children during the school holidays while Andy was in the UK. I know the girls thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their cousins and friends.

Finally the weekend arrived and we were all relived to have made it through! A relaxing easy going day was in order. So out came the paints which kept the girls entertained for the best part of the morning. We tried cutting up vegetables and fruits for prints however the girls just loved mixing colours best!

After cleaning up, we headed down to the oval in the afternoon as the girls were keen to test out Pippa's new toy! All parties loved it! We took turns kite flying and ball throwing before retreating to the sand pit!!
