More preparation of the foundations to be ready for the slab to be poured - ground compacted, insulation and reinforcing down.
And a little bit of work on the cantilevered section - with edges finished and battens on.

Bricklayers returned to finish the job(s).
Kitchen window - tick
Katy's window - tick!
and the foundations - tick!
Mothers Day
Waking early I tried to sneak out for a quick run (Katy did see me) before returning for a shower, hopping back into my pj's and snuggling down in bed as I knew the girls were eager to cook me breakfast in bed! I was showered with homemade gifts, eggs and bacon plus coffee! All very lovely :)
A cruisy day was enjoyed by all and topped off with a roast dinner and apple pie!

Renos - Day 8.5
Saturday morning dawned with Paul and several bricklayers converging in the back garden. It didn't take them long to start laying the first brick and almost as fast as they started they stopped! Happy enough with their progress they called it a day vowing to return to finish it off on Monday.
Renos - Day 8
The builders provide us with breakfast entertainment most mornings and this morning was no different. We watched in awe as pieces of Ella's plum coloured bedroom wall walked past the kitchen window and landed into the skip! Intrigued Andy stuck his head through the painters curtain and snapped this shot before we left for school and work....
We returned at the end of the day to admire Paul and Tom's handy work. I've added in a few before photos just to highlight the changes!!
Ella's room before....
and after....firstly views from outside notice the cantilevering effort
and then from the inside...
Katy's Room looked like this....
and now....
plus the view into Katy's room from Ella's room...
Paul was also getting ready for the bricklayers who were due to start in the morning - on a Saturday at 7am!!

Renos - Day 7
We all had a long day at school/soccer practise and work so didn't return home until the sun had gone down. Inspecting the days progress on the house in the dark is a little challenging however todays work was very obvious.
Firstly there were heavy painters covering hanging up in the hallway! What a surprise we got when we peered past the second cloth door adjacent to the bathroom.....

Looks like they had fun removing lots of gyprock walls, all the doors, the wardrobes which backed on to each other and part of the ceiling. Now you could stand in Katy's room and look directly through to Ella's! More writing on the floor indicated the position of various parts - ensuite, storage, bathroom giving a little more of an idea of what was to come!
