Katy Turns 4!

Katy's birthday celebrations began on waking by opening her presents on our bed. Thanks to Aunty Cathy's influence, Katy loves Hello Kitty and is in her element over here with all the Hello Kitty merchandise. During food shopping she has spotted Hello Kitty pasta and biscuits. While we stop for petrol and coffee at the motorway services she spots Hello Kitty soft toys. In a shop front on Summertown High street she sees Hello Kitty stationery. I could go on but I'm sure you get the picture......

So it was only natural for us to take advantage of this opportunity. Ella gave her a Hello Kitty toy house and purple scarf. We gave her Hello Kitty pj's, t-shirt and a Paddington Bear book while Pippa gave her some lego. We had one happy 4 year old :)

Down to we traipsed to our english breakfast cooked by Elaine. Katy avoided the cooked breakfast and opted for porridge, while Ella during our travels has obtain a taste for baked beans on toast with an egg on top. When we were discussing our breakfast order the night before, Ella was concerned that Elaine might not have the right small round beans...we were slightly confused until we worked out that she was worried that Elaine would serve her long green beans!

While the girls played more games with Elaine, we packed up our belonging and took them out to the car. We bid our farewells to Elaine and Michael for their wonderful hospitality and went on our way.
The drive to Oxford was relatively easy and quiet. We managed to include a quick food shop before arriving at home by the early afternoon. The rest of the day was spent playing with Katy's new toys, a trip to the park plus the usual unpacking, washing and reorganising.

Homemade pizza was on the menu for dinner and aptly complimented with a Hello Kitty birthday cake for dessert!
