Andy's research groups met at Lennox Gardens on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin on a very hot Friday afternoon for their end of year BBQ. It wasn't long before Ella, Katy and James were splashing around in the lake and who could blame them with the temperature hovering around 37ºC!
After dinner, the traditional annual award - The GFD Experimentalist of the Year (this translates to the biggest stuff up in the lab) was given to one of the technicians who cracked a perspex wall on one of the large tanks which was nearing completion. Also it was a sad occasion as Tony and Ross, two long serving members of the group commence their retirement.
By 8..45pm, the sun was slowly setting and the girls were still in the water! Needless to say when we finally got them out and home, it was a quiet night as they both drifted off to sleep without any fuss!
