With a feast of roast lamb, chicken and duck planned, it was all stations go in the kitchen. By 10.30am everyone who wanted to run had done so, the lunch was roasting and the kids were desperate to open the remaining presents under the christmas tree. With such a large family present opening becomes quiet chaotic as you can imagine with six children! Can't say I was very good at photo taking this year....Andy snapped a few in the aftermath!
Andy and I were excited to receive a new 2 burner camping stove, the girls were given headlands, camping maps amongst many other great things - perfect for the post chrismtas camping trip we'd planned!
Lunch came together nicely thanks to everyone for pitching in. The food was delicious and filling despite half the duck being left back in a fridge in Canberra!! As per normal we spent the afternoon lazing around with some of us enjoying a nana nap.
Dinner was the lunchtime dessert we didn't have room for! Patrick had cooked a fantastic lemon sorbet/cheesecake thing with chocolate edges. The children were exhausted from all the days excitement and went to bed without a fuss. The German Phase 10 cards emerged and the adults spent the rest of the night trying to get a phase!!
