Detour from the Norm.

We thought we would take advantage of the Boxing Day sales with an adventure into Perth. Catching the train from Murdoch, it was a quick trip into Elizabeth Quay, located on the northern banks of the Swan River based around the Bell Tower and named after Queen Elizabeth. Officially opened January 2016, it was a new area for all of us.

It was another hot Perth day, so our first port of call was the BHP Biliton Water Park. Perhaps Ella got the wrong end of the stick when we said water park and was very unimpressed to see an area with a few puddles and small fountains. While Ella and Andy went for a walk to explore the area, Katy had a great time cooling off. The jets did manage to get above her head a couple of times.

Next we trudged the rest of the way into town, braved the crowds to find lunch before venturing to the outdoor shops picking up shoes for Andy and a jacket for Katy.

Although our day didn't start at the beach as per the normal routine, we did finish there by taking the train to Fremantle and bus joining up with Grandad and Annwen at South Beach. A nice round trip.
