Organising

Getting organised to go away for an extended period of time is time consuming. We had an extremely long list on our to-do-list for our 4 month trip to France. However as time goes by, the list shrunk and by our departure time, we'd crossed everything off.

As I've previously alluded to, our friends Mace and Ben and their girls will be staying in our place while their house is being renovated while we are away. A win win scenario! We cleaned up as much as possible outside. A last minute decision to make the chickens a little more self sufficient involved installation of new feeder and water systems the weekend before we left.

I also went about making a trellis to help control the raspberries which were flourishing profusely! Hopefully, there will be raspberries galore for the girls to nibble on!

Inside we toddler proofed the house as much as possible and rearranged wardrobes so they could store their own things easily. Mace and Ben came around to grab the keys and to have a tour of the place. Meanwhile our girls introduced Lola to the chickens!
