Sunday morning dawned. We were up early skirting around the Colosseum for the last time which looked beautiful in the soft morning light. Took the metro to Roma Termini, where we boarded our first train - TGV to Turin. The 700km journey only took 4 hours as the train chugged along at 230km/h!We waited for 1.5hrs before the next train. The remaining 250km to Grenoble took us another 5hrs with 3 train changes. We rolled into Grenoble Gare at 6.30pm and walked into our apartment 20 mins later. Happy that our 12hr travelling day went so smoothly.
