Canberra Aqua Park

We needed to be flexible with our plans as we discovered various activities weren't open or were booked out. Our visit to the new Canberra Aqua Park, an inflatable waterpark in Lake Burley Griffin was scheduled for 2pm and turned out to be the hottest part of the day with the temperature soaring to 37°C!

Once fitted with a lifejacket, participants were let loose on the course for an hour! Thankfully numbers were limited which meant lines were kept to a minimum. The kids plus Gareth and Andy had heaps of fun negotiating the various parts - swings, slides and a launching pillow!

The big girls observed from the shore, noting the trickiness of the launching pillow. Firstly the person usually child, dropped on to the pillow and without falling off made their way to the front section. The majority of kids would fall off at this point. If the child managed to stay on, the adult would then launch themselves off landing on the back of the pillow, resulting in the bouncing off of the child on the front. Gareth was extremely successful in launching Jessica halfway to the sun and in the process scaring her half to death!!
