Wet Weather Sunday

Prior to leaving Canberra, we'd noticed that an orienteering event was scheduled at Jorgensen Park and thought it was a great opportunity to catch up with friends - whoever turned up at the event.

Our drive to Jorgensen Park was in heavy rain. We were hoping that the rain band would pass by the time we arrived but were in no such luck. Jorgensen Park is not the nicest orienteering area. I have more memories of running cross country courses around the perimeter of the old golf course than doing orienteering.

Anyway Katy, Andy and I went out on courses in the rain. Andy and I did the same course which crisscrossed the golf course and descended into the thick prickly bush on the scarp unfortunately several times! Katy's course stayed on the plateau of the golf course.

At the event we caught up briefly with Ceri who was helping organise the event and had a good chat to Tom plus several other oldies. Post event we headed to a local cafe where we warmed up and enjoyed a lunch catch up with Rachel, Craig and kids.

From Kalamunda we drove to Duncraig to spent the afternoon at the Day residence. It was great to hang around with Matthew and Jordan. We ended up staying for dinner too!
