Gardening in January

All this rain has been great for the garden. Combined with the compost the veggies look like they are on steroids! Interestingly I'd never grown purple bean before and was quite surprised when I cooked them they turned green!! Blueberry crop was great as were the potatoes!

I also attended a native plant sale- a keen gardener who grows and sells tube stock from his house in Canberra. I walked away with several plants which are also going well in the garden.

Another surprise was the emergence of this bright and beautiful flower from this scraggly looking shade plant.
