Katy made it to her second gym competition. Again held at her gym, this comp was the State Level State Championships. Katy competed in the Level 5 section completing the same routines as she did last month.Our day as a family was much more complicated as Ella had athletics training and her netball wind up wither side but slightly overlapping Katy's gym competition.
Katy's group was not on an apparatus for the first session - great for Andy and Ella who were coming from athletics. They then began with vault. Her performance on vault was noticeably better and Katy scored a 8.82 (previously 7.83).
Next was uneven bars. Katy ironed out her previous mistake, making it cleanly up and over the bar for her mount. She scored 9.05 (previously 8.58).
After this, Ella and I headed off leaving Andy and Nana to watch the remaining sessions. Beam was up next and Katy had another solid performance without any obvious errors although only scored 8.70 (previously 9.05)
Floor was the final apparatus. Katy had another great routine scoring 9.00 (previously 9.13)
Ella and I arrived in time for the presentations. Kat placed in floor (=5th) and beam (6th). Her overall score was 35.57 (previously 34.59) which meant she placed much higher but just missed out on the podium.
