To make the most of the school holidays (and Nat taking minimal annual leave), we ventured off to Tathra on Friday afternoon for 5 nights. Back to Melaluca House, the wonderful place we discovered in January and with such a spacious house we had the Jones/Walter and Searle clans join us.
From the last trip in summer, we knew Wallagoot Gap was a great spot so decided to head back there on Saturday. Despite the cool conditions, the children donned their bathers and in Ella's case her wetsuit. No one got fully wet - Ella was determine to try but only made it up to her waist before being deterred by the icy water.
Exploring the beach, the children found lots of pumice and spent time playing with it in the waves before retreating to sand castle building. By the time the boys, who had ran the coastal track from Tathra plus a bit more, joined us on the beach the wind had increased and suddenly everyone was very cold and hungry.
