Enough playing, next was work. We spent a large portion of time over the weekend preparing for the ACT Primary School Champs. All our hard work paid off with 174 students from 16 schools participating in the event held at Mount Ainslie. Race day was hot and taxing on us all and we were shattered that evening - early bedtime for everyone apart from Andy who was at the cricket!
After the stress of the event ebbed away we were back to normal life - thank goodness! The girls took Grandad to Little Ath's. He was impressed watching Katy participate in various activities / events in her first season. He also commented on how much Ella's techniques had improved in many of her events (all except the walk which she purposefully came last - she shares her dad's opinion on this event!!) The morning was topped off by a visit to Little Oink for coffee and scones.
While Katy was enjoying herself at Kid City for a preschool friends birthday party, we joined up with Lily around the corner for some indoor rock climbing which was hot but fun. Is was sad to hear that Lily and her parents Nadine and Sean are moving back to the north coast. We will miss seeing them.
Luckily for us, Grandad extended his ticket for another 5 days and was able to help me out while Andy spend a week in the Hunter Valley for work. Grandad and Ella engaged in a new challenge of building the highest Jenga tower. The week went smoothly and as always we were sad to see Grandad go.
