Merry Christmas

Santa managed to find the girls at the lodge much to their relief and thankfully it wasn't a crazily early start either. The girls were impressed with their loot in their santa sacks and quickly ran off to show the other cousins.

This Christmas saw the our numbers swell - Sara, Patrick's niece from Germany was visiting and Cathy's partner Quokka and his daughter Grace joined us. We would have loved for Nana and Grandad to be here with us but it was not to be.

We were blessed with another gorgeous day and not a cloud in the sky. The morning as usual was chaotic fitting in running, preparing food, present opening and then cooking lunch. There was a lot of discussion about timing and oven use. Eventually the duck was relegated to the outside bbq and a bit of oven juggling was needed. The turn out was an amazing spread of food - roast chicken, lamb, duck and pork belly with various veggies.

A wander down to Farm Creek in the late afternoon was necessary to walk off some of the delicious lunch and also to make room for the awesome ferrero rocher cake (thanks Patrick) which was a big hit with those who liked chocolate and the raspberry pistachio ice-cream was a lovely too.

Meanwhile back in Aston Cres, Pippa didn't seem to notice our absence with our neighbours, Sofia and Louis taking fantastic care of her.
