Katy Carves Up the Waves
After a leisurely breakfast, it was time to explore Lions Beach. Armed with our boogie boards, it was a short stroll along the Jiguma Walking Trail to this small beach nestled between Main Beach and Pambula River.
Despite the slightly overcast conditions, the girls were very keen to swim. Ella plunging straight in with Andy, while Katy warmed up by jumping a few waves. With max temp forecast for the day to be 24°C, it wasn't surprising that we didn't last long in the water. Luckily there is so much to do at the beach while warming up.
The sun came out turning the water a brilliant turquoise which against the red rocks and blue sky was simply stunning. You can understand why this region is known as the Sapphire Coast. With the waves looking so inviting it was hard not to want to go back in for another dip. This time with the boogie boards!
The small consistent waves were fantastic for the girls especially Katy who had, on previous occasions, been too reluctant to boogie boarding because of the big loud waves. After a few pointers she was off thoroughly enjoying her rides.
