Perfect Pambula Beach

As organised as ever we decided a few weeks before school holidays that we should venture to the coast for a few days farewelling summer. Now with NSW on the same holiday schedule as ACT, we searched for a place further south. As expected there weren't a huge selection of houses available but one did catch our eye....at Pambula Beach.

Nana from Perth conveniently arrived the night before we were due to leave, so she squeezed into the car between the two happy and excited girls. It was a relaxing departure from our place and we cruised down Brown Mountain at lunchtime stopping in Bemboka for something to eat.

The most direct route to Pambula saw us turn off our normal Bega/Tarthra road, continuing thorough very beautiful green rolling hills and several small country towns - Candelo and Wolumla. From there we joined the Princess Highway detouring into Merimbula to pick up the keys, then it was a short drive to our accommodation.

It's always a slightly nerve wracking time pulling up to the house you've chosen off the internet in a place you've never been to before. Turns out we had really scored big time with this one. Here is the proof - the view from the balcony - overlooking the mouth of the Pambula River!

A quick unload of the car, then we headed down to test out the water and playground. The water was shall we say refreshing and we didn't last that long in it before we did some digging in the sand and playing on the swing. A great start to our mini break.
