With the winter cold weather, we couldn't think of a better way to experiment with a new craft than in front of a cosy fire. From the garage, I scavenged various offcuts of mdf thinking that it would be easy to hammer a few nail in. Both girls loved tapping away and were making good progress. However it became obvious that the nails needed to be hammered in quite hard otherwise they would pop out when tapping the next one in. Turned out to be a great activity in persistence! Soon enough the girls were winding away with the wool in any direction and the seal and hummingbird silhouettes began to take shape. The girls were happy with the end results of our trial run knowing next time we'd do things slightly differently.
