Catching up on the Otherside of Australia

Katy was extremely excited to get going today. Our 350km journey north took us to Pardoo Station. We listened to Red Dog - True Blue on audiobook not realising this was the Hollywood movie version. The only resemblance there was Red Dog and it was set in the Pilbara. Anyway it kept us entertained for 2 hours of the 3.5 hour drive.

The only excitement on the drive occurred just north of Port Hedland, when a rock flicked up and put a decent size chip in our windscreen. Luckily the window stayed in one piece. We rolled into Pardoo Station a little while later and set up camp in the blazing sun. We had beaten the Livermore clan which was no surprise as they had a longer drive coming from Broome.

Katy was so impatient wanting to see her close friend Alia again. They hadn't seen each other since Easter when the Livermore clan left Canberra for their 6 month doin' nothin' at all round trip of Australia!

Late afternoon, the Livermore's drove in with their Cub camper in tow and all of a sudden Katy was shy!! Go figure! We closely observed, or perhaps distracted as Fi, Andy, Alia and Arran erected their mansion! Soon enough we were enjoying nibbles and pre dinner drinks swapping stories of our travels. We continued chatting over our BBQ dinners while enjoying a few beverages too.
