We will slip into Broome time after our run! A new place means a new running route! Today we made our way through the back of the resort, up and over the sand dunes onto the tidal flat of Roebuck Bay. We turned right heading in the direction of the Broome Port Jetty extending into the turquoise water before retracing our steps. A quick dip in the pool was required before waking the girls.
Being a Sunday, the Courthouse Markets were on until 1pm. Not as big as the Saturday markets, but we all managed to contribute to the local economy by making several purchases.
We also found the Mango smoothie van - recommended by a fellow traveller in Karratha as being the best mango smoothie ever. The wait in the hot sun was well worth it. The smoothies were cold and delicious.
From there, we drove the short distance into town, negotiating the plethora of road works occurring in and around Chinatown. Expecting this area to a hive of activity, we were disappointment with what we found. Many shops were permanently closed, while other were not open on Sunday afternoons. Grabbing food for dinner, we headed back to our bungalow to spend the rest of the afternoon slipping into Broome Time.
Late afternoon Andy and I ventured to Cable Beach to test the waters. It was busier than we expected. The turquoise water was a warm 23° but still refreshing under the blazing sun.
