Summer is on Hold

Of course our gas heater went on the blink just as spring approached when it was deemed too hot to light the wood fire but a little chilly to have nothing! We managed for a few weeks before arranging for a replacement - choosing reverse cycle air conditioner - partly so that we can disconnect the gas.

The weather gods however have had other ideas mainly to delay summer and keep dropping the temperature. The word fire has been cleaned and the wood boxes put away in the garage several times before being hauled out again for another few days. The wood supply / fire brick situation was fast running out too.

In October we ordered a tonne of firewood, chopped and stacked that. And went on the wait list for a pallet of firebricks.They arrived in early December so we unpacked and restocked those into the garage. Of course a few days later the temperature plummeted again and the wood fire was needed once again!
