Denmark town centre is fairly small. After enjoying coffee where Andy was feeling slightly left out as he wasn't sporting a tea cosy beanie like most of the locals, we left the girls to themselves to find bargains at the local thrifts stores while we shopped at the IGA for the essentials.
Following a short drive, we stopped at the Denmark Chocolate Company. A trail through a well cultivated and maintained garden enlightened us on the history of chocolate. However the girls were not here for a historical lesson rather to gorge themselves on chocolate!!
A lovely lady inside informed us to the process of chocolate making in this small business and guided us though the tasting chocolate plate. We all had different favourites. After a few purchases we made our way to Green's Pool.
A favourite place our ours (and everyone else). This place is gorgeous. The turquoise water with large granite boulders are spectacular. We braved the chilly conditions to swim across the lagoon. On our return the girls jumped off one of the boulders. The large granite slabs were the perfect natural heater after our swim.
After a little bit of sunning ourselves like lizards, we were again warm enough to function properly! I cajoled the family into a few re creation photos (I substituted myself for Heather in the first one!). We visited Green's Pool with friends Heather and Adrian in Nov 2009 when Katy was 6 months old and Ella was 2.5yrs old. The day back then was much nicer but I think the water was still chilly!
From Green's Pool, we continued driving west pulling in at the Sly Fox Diner at Bow River in the middle of nowhere. It was a fun place packed full of 60's American Hollywood memorabilia. The burger and chips were delicious. Our final destination was again only a short drive to Peaceful Bay.
