Rusutsu - Day 2, 3 & 4

The next three days we explored more of the mountain trails including a spot of night skiing and an all lifts day. Sometime it was all of us, other times solo or in small groups. Lunch was best at the main resort with awesome udon and delicious burritos. The weather varied from cloudy to bright blue skies and unfortunately there was no fresh snow dump only the occasional snow flurry.

Dinners were varied - a lodge dinner with 4 courses was probably not super appreciated by our girls especially when Katy realised we were eating deer! We cooked pasta one night with limited success and we ate out for three nights.

The first night was a western pub - only place we could get a table. The second restaurant was ok - the black walls of the windowless room we were eating in were covered by guests graffiti. The food there was ok. The third place was associated with where we rented our skis from and the food there was simple but great.

By the end of our time at Rusutsu, we were all shattered. Let it also be known that Andy declined Katy’s request for a final run citing he was very tired. A first for the guy who always wants to do more skiing!!
