Rusutsu

Our accomodation was awesome. The dome was spacious, warm with wonderful snowy mountain views! A respectable start to the morning with the shuttle dropping us at off at Amuse where we picked up our hire gear before finding a locker in the main resort to store our snow shoes for the day. It was now mid morning and we were all itching for ski time!

We began on West Mt, the slopes closest to the resort hotel. Here we eased into skiing with a few green runs then onto the higher and longer slopes slowly getting our bearings. The girls and Andy were quick to explore off piste finding paths through the trees. I was content with the red runs.

A few hours later and it was break time. We found the food hall and opted for an earlier lunch. Food was great - girls chose udon while Andy and I had a burrito. All very satisfied. Afternoon plans were hatched.

Catching the gondola over to the other side - East Mt. We didn’t do much on East Mt though, just one chair up before beelining for the longer runs on Mt Isola. The next chair took us 3/4 of the way up Mt Isola. We skied down to the bottom to catch the gondola right up to the top! Views from the top were impressive as were the snow / ice covered trees glittering under blues skies!

At the top, it was decided that we call it a day and made our way back to the resort to buy breakfast food, collect our belongings from the lockers while waiting for the shuttle to arrive. A great start!
