The sun was shinning, the water chilly (even in our new full length wetsuits) and the waves were choppy. We all struggled in these not ideal conditions - trying to catch, then attempt to stand and ride the waves in. Not surprisingly the girls (Ella, Katy and Aoife) were all so much better than we were. In the white wash, it was challenging to hold steady and we quickly became exhausted! Eventually the time came, when everyone had had enough, so it was back to the caravan park we ambled. The girls went straight into the pool for more swimming!
In the afternoon with the wind up, we opted to the calm waters of Kianinny Bay. The water was still freezing made bearable with our wetsuits! We swam out looking for the local stingrays that hang out in these waters.
